[Lately Kevas has found himself a calm spot in the keep. Maybe it's not where he wants to be, but he knows slamming his fists against the walls will do nothing but make them bleed. Instead, he's kept a large amount of his focus on his family, which is way this latest incident has pushed him to his breaking point.

Aht has just lost her leg because of this, and Kevas is livid.]

Every time something happens like this it's because we aren't told. We aren't told about the fucking dangers that sit right in front of us! We aren't told about the basic fucking facts about the place we're being kept!

[Kevas snarls and slams a nearby wall with his fist. Right now he's pacing the halls of the Great Keep because the last thing Aht needs is him raging over her.]

We weren't told about infected bitch when you knew! We weren't told about these dogs when you knew! How many times are we gonna be forced into contact with something that can kill us at a drop of the hat!? How many times does a fucking idiot have to something stupid before we're told even just a little about this god damn place!?

How many little mons have to injured or die before you care to tell us!?

[Kevas lets out one final roar of anger before pitching the journal at the wall. He's got nothing to do but hope Aht lives.]

When a dog gets his tail crushed under the wheel of a wagon, all he knows is that his tail is crushed. He'll never see what the wagon is carrying or where it's going.

They expect us to have the mental capacity of a dog under a wheel and rage when we prove otherwise.

[Nel knows it likely isn't as simple as that; she's more inclined to believe the staff are careless than outright malicious.

A few, that is. Others she wouldn't trust as far as she could throw them.

And carelessness can do the same amount of damage deliberate cruelty can. It's only harder to own up to.]

Unacceptable on the whole.

In this I'm finding it hard to differentiate between Redd's crew and Deior's underlings who, deliberately or not, enable disaster.

[Did they ever talk about the gangly teenaged boy she saw get mashed up in the teeth of a psychotic clown train? Or the girl who was gutted within the same minute? Carnival is the best playground.

Nel would probably have shared that, if only out of sheer agitation that children (or youths too young for the military) are being ripped apart.]

Sitting and waiting for them to acknowledge their failings won't get us anywhere worthwhile.

[Gee, Albel's offer is starting to look real good.]
